The Longest Date: Life as a Wife by Cindy Chupack My rating: 4 of 5 stars I wasn't sure what to expect from this book when I entered the Goodreads contest for it. I knew it was going to have some comedy, which is always a good thing, and would mostly be lighthearted, which is again a good thing. What I didn't expect was for Cindy Chupack to invite us into her and her husband Ian's life for 200 pages. And I'm glad I read it! This book was just a wonderfully delightful trip through the ups and downs of another person's marriage. Now, don't get me wrong, she doesn't go into all the sordid details of their marriage, but rather, she tells stories and anecdotes to show that life isn't perfect, and neither is marriage. She and her husband got married later in life, and they tried for children; and failed. And that part of the book is what got to me the most I think.
