Wanderlust
Wanderlust by Ann Aguirre
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Wanderlust is the second book in the Sirantha Jax series by Ann Aguirre. After the Corp is exposed for the horrible things they did on Matins IV, and then tried to blame Sirantha for, Ms. Jax is asked to become a New Terran ambassador to Ithiss-Tor, the world where Vel the bounty hunter hails from. Vel agrees to go along as the person who will help make things go more smoothly.
But when Jax and March realize that something is seriously going wrong with Jax's health, they decide to head back to Lachion to meet with Doc and see if there's anything he can do to help, or at least help them figure out what's wrong.
But before they even get to Lachion, they get waylaid by an emergency on a distant outpost, and all of a sudden, they're thrown into a war that they know nothing about. Add to that, the Syndicate (Mafia of Space) wants nothing more than for Sirantha to fail her mission to Ithiss-Tor.
As things get worse for Jax, she starts pulling away from March, which seems to be ruining the love that they have.
Will Sirantha be able to make it through these trials and make it to Ithiss-Tor? Will she and March be able to reconcile their feelings for each other before it's too late?
If you like the series Firefly, or if you like Space/Sci-Fi novels/movies/TV Shows/Games, then this series is right up your alley. Sirantha Jax is one tough cookie who wants to live her life her way, and no one is going to stop her. She is thrown for a bit of a loop when asked to be an ambassador, but with help, she starts to figure it out. I loved this book just as much as the first, and I bet the third is going to be even better.
There are a few things in the series that I'm waiting to sort themselves out, but due to the fact that I can't really say what without giving away too many spoilers, I'll just say that you have to pick up these books, since they're totally awesome.
