Rosemary and Rue

Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire My rating: 4 of 5 stars I'm not normally a fan of books that delve into the world of the fae, just because of how overdone it's all becoming. But, I was really surprised with this book. The way it's written reminded me of early Laurell K. Hamilton, or Jim Butcher. It's a gritty crime novel set in the world of faerie. October "Toby" Daye is a PI in the world of fae, who finds herself cursed into a fish for fourteen years. When the curse breaks, she takes herself from the world of faerie. But the death of a close friend pulls her back in suddenly, probably sooner than she could handle. Now Toby is racing to find the killer before more people die... including herself. Will Toby be able to integrate herself back into the world of faerie? Will her friends and family forgive her for alienating herself? And will she be able to stop the killer before it's too late?
