Books vs. Movies

It's time to do a books vs. movies entry. I was at Barnes & Noble yesterday, hoping to spend some of a gift card that a good friend got me for the holiday, and I happened to come across a rack called "In the Theater." Needless to say, it was a rack of books that have recently been made into movies and are now showing in theaters.

So, since I have lately noticed that lots of books are getting made into movies, I want to know if any of you have seen any of the recent movies, or are planning to, and how they are? There are several I'd like to see for sure, and I've been known in the past to go see films that have been made into books. So, let's discuss:

1. Anna Karenina- Leo Tolstoy
2. Silver Linings Playbook- Matthew Quick
3. Warm Bodies- Issac Marion
4. Beautiful Creatures- Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
5. The Host- Stephenie Meyer
6. The Hobbit- J.R.R. Tolkein
7. Les Miserables- Victor Hugo
8. On the Road- Jack Kerouac
9. City of Bones-Cassandra Clare
10. The Great Gatsby- F. Scott Fitzgerald
11. Life of Pi- Yann Martel
12. Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pt. 2- Stephenie Meyer

Also coming out soon should be the next installment in the Hunger Games Trilogy, Catching Fire. So, any books you'd like to see made into movies? Any movies out there you thought were better than the books? What about TV shows? True Blood, The Walking Dead, and Bones, are all really big hits, and all were based off of books. I know for years there's been talk of doing a TV spin off of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Series.

Also recently made into film:

1. The Help- Katherine Stockett
2. Jane Eyre- Charlotte Bronte

Let me know of any I've forgotten, or any others you know of!
