I didn't know what to expect when I started this book. Maybe just another Post-Apocalyptic YA Romance novel. What I actually found was an action-packed New Adult Fantasy/Romance. This book is awesome! I was unable to put it down.

Ari was abandoned by her mom when she was four years old. Now that she's seventeen, she's tracked her mom to an insane asylum outside of New 2, the city that used to be New Orleans, before the hurricanes flattened it. Now it's owned by nine wealthy families called the Novem.

But there's more to Ari's story than what meets the eye. As soon as she leaves the asylum, someone tries to kill her. Ari decides to go into New 2 to see what's going on, and to find out the truth about her past. She finds help from a rag-tag group of outcasts, and the very sexy Sebastian.

But will the truth about Ari's past be more than she can handle?

This book is awesome, as I said before. It takes place in one of my favorite lit cities, New Orleans, and the characters are just perfect. Each is a little bit different, which will draw you to them. There are a few sensual moments, but nothing over the top. Ari and Sebastian are great together. Violet is my favorite character of the whole book though. She's a small girl obsessed with Mardi Gras masks, and a small albino alligator named Pascal.

Do yourself a favor and pick up this book. It's a super quick read, and you won't be sorry.

The main character Aidan seemed very distant and aloof at the start of the book, and then seemed to become more human as she interacted more with Chris, Phoebe, and Trent. The Bite Before Christmas by Lynsay Sands My rating: 5 of 5 stars Home For the Holidays- Jeaniene Frost To be honest, I bought this book just for the Night Huntress short story. I liked the short story, for sure, but at the same time, I have some minor critiques... mainly that there wasn't enough Cat/Bones time together in said story. Cat and Bones have decided to have a good old fashioned Christmas at home, with their closest family and friends. But, when a long-lost member of Bones' blood family from when he was alive shows up, things start to get a little... strange. Cat, Ian, and Denise are left to figure out what's going on, and how to fix the problems with the rest of the guests that had been invited to the party. But can they figure out what's going on before someone gets killed... permanently? This was great for a novella/short story.
